Why should you become involved with WCI extracurricular activities?

The extracurriculars at WCI are a great way to interact and meet new people who have the same or similar interests as yourself. There are many benefits to joining our activities and our athletics; clubs can reinforce your learnings and help you to learn new things in a more open environment or you can participate in some competitions. These activities can help you to discover new passions and help to bring out your creativity and more imagination. Our athletics are a great way to maintain fitness while having fun in teams and building on your teamwork and leadership skills. FAQ

At WCI, awards are presented to students who demonstrate excellence in academics, extra-curricular activities, and athletics. The extra-curricular activities award, also known as the Blue W, is earned through a point system. Most clubs and groups count for one point, and a maximum of 3 points may be earned by a student per year. For students attending high school for four years, a minimum of 8 points is required for the Blue W. For students attending high school for five years, a minimum of 10 points is required.

If you have an idea for a new club at WCI, you must first find a teacher to act as a staff supervisor. You can also grab a few friends to help you start and plan the club! Next, design a club logo. Then, fill out this Google Form to confirm the creation of your new club. Consider setting up a Google Classroom or an Instagram account for easy communication within the club. Good luck!
